A solar bike trip in Europe during the Green Week in the old continent

The first solar trips in Europe began, from Lyon, France, where the “Suntrip Europe” European Solar Journey is heading to Brussels, a solar bike trip sponsored by the European Commission in the framework of the European Green Week, where about 40 participants will travel 30 countries and 10,000 kilometers in prototypes Solar powered by pedals, it's a varied adventure and arrives in Brussels on June 16th.

Florian Bailly, the organizer of the Solar Bike Tour, explains that “about 30 bikes leave from Lyon for Brussels. It is the precursor to the Sun Trip Europe which will be 10,000 kilometers around Europe, from Brussels to Riga, from Riga Constanza, in Romania, and from Constanza to Italy, then to Spain, then to Porto in Portugal, and back to Lyon," said the Spanish newspaper 20 Minotos.

Ferran Tarradillas Esponi, Head of Communications for European Commission Representatives in France, explained, “This tour of Europe by bike is very important, on the other hand because it shows the diversity of the European Union which is also shown in every different bike as well. And I think this Tour of Europe is very European because it aligns perfectly with Objectives of the European Green Deal, which

It aims to make Europe the first climate-neutral continent by 2050 and that means we have to change our transportation, based on clean energy and zero emissions, from CO2. And the trip itself is an announcement of what kind of transport, what kind of energy we want in Europe for the future.”

"The Europe we want to build," said Gregory Dusset, the mayor of the environment in Lyon, on his bike. "Every day will meet all Europeans at every different stage, all participants, in all their diversity, women, men, people with disabilities... Everything will go to meet diversity. European. It's an incredible human adventure to film."

This return to Europe on a solar bike could last between one and three months depending on each participant's pace: ambassadors of alternative and sustainable mobility, in prototypes that will set the tone for future mobility.
