Prime Minister of Italy: a national permit that allows citizens to travel across regions within the country

Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi announced that his country is ready again to "host the world," noting that Italians will enjoy a national permit that allows them to travel across the regions later this month, according to "Russia Today."

In a speech during the opening of a meeting of the Group of Twenty on tourism, Draghi said that "the national permit will be ready a month before the European Union plans to publish a certificate that will make it easier for citizens to travel between the countries of the bloc during the summer," adding that "Italy is ready again to host the world."

The European Union certificate would allow tourists to travel without being quarantined if they recovered from a corona infection, received the vaccine, or provided a negative test for the virus.

Currently, Italians can travel freely between the regions with the least restrictions, which currently cover most of the country with the exception of the Aosta region on the French border and the regions of Puglia, Basilicata, Calabria, Sicily and Sardinia.
