Tariq Al-Ashry: If I had belonged to Al-Ahly or Zamalek, I would have been coach of the national team

Tariq Al-Ashry, the player of Al-Ittihad Alexandria and the former technical director of a number of clubs in the Egyptian League, revealed that he had received two offers from Libya to train Al-Madina and Al-Ittihad clubs, after his departure from Al-Tale'aa Al-Jaish this season, but he refused them.

"My modest results in the recent period have affected my history, and it is natural for clubs to think a lot before hiring me, and they have every excuse for that," Al-Ashry said in televised statements for the program "I acknowledge and confess" with Schubert.

Al-Ashry explained that playing for Al-Ahly and Zamalek is different from the rest of the clubs, and their training representation is also different, saying, "If I belonged to Al-Ahly or Zamalek, I would have become a coach for the team now, the player and coach is outside Al-Ahly and Zamalek must make an effort 300 times in the two poles in order to gain the honor of representing the national team."

The former technical director denied the rumors of his request by Jose to work with Al-Ahly or outside, explaining that he was welcome to work as a general coach with Jose in any training station he went to, stressing that working with the Portuguese technical director would raise the coach's name to the sky.

Al-Ashry admitted that he had failed Al-Ittihad of Alexandria and Mohamed Moselhy after his request to work as technical director of the federation, explaining that the matter occurred in circumstances that prevented him from accepting the mission, and reservations about the idea of using a football manager again after his bitter experience with Abdel-Zahir Al-Sakka in Al-Masry at the beginning of this season.
