The Moroccan Institute of Geophysics announced that an earthquake measuring 4.4 on the Richter scale was recorded today, Friday, off the coast of Essaouira.
The institute's monitoring and seismic warning network stated that the quake, whose epicenter was located at the width of the coasts of the city of Essaouira, occurred at around 2 am, 59 minutes and 24 seconds.
A statement by the Seismic Monitoring and Warning Network added that this quake was recorded at a depth of 33 km, at the confluence of 31.807 degrees north latitude and 10.172 degrees west longitude.
