The Jordanian Foreign Ministry condemns the terrorist run-over incident in Canada

The Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Affairs condemned the terrorist run-over incident that took place in London in the Canadian province of Ontario, killing 4 people from a Muslim family and seriously wounding a child.

The official spokesman for the ministry, Ambassador Dhaifallah Ali Al-Fayez, affirmed - according to what was reported by the Jordan News Agency - the Kingdom's strong condemnation and denunciation of this terrorist incident and the targeting of innocent civilians on the basis of religion and ethnicity, which is incompatible with all religious and human values, stressing the Kingdom's position rejecting terrorism in all its forms and forms, no matter what. It was his motives and reasons.

Al-Fayez expressed his sincere condolences and sincere sympathy to the government and people of Canada and to the families of the victims, wishing a speedy recovery for the injured child.

In turn, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau expressed his solidarity with Muslims in his country after an accident that ran over a family of five in London last Sunday evening, which resulted in the killing of four and the injury of a child.

Trudeau said in a series of tweets on his official Twitter account: "I am horrified by the news coming from the City of London in the Province of Ontario... For the loved ones of those who were terrorized by the hate incident yesterday, we are here with you... We are also here with the child who is still In the hospital .. our hearts are with you, and you will be in our thoughts as you recover.”

And Trudeau continued, saying in a second tweet: To the Muslim community in London and Muslims across the country, know that we stand with you. Islamophobia has no place in any of our societies...this hatred is cunning and despicable, and it must stop."

Trudeau said that he spoke by phone yesterday evening with the mayor of London and officials about this abhorrent and heinous attack that took place in the city. I told them that we will continue to use every tool we have to fight Islamophobia, and we will be here with those who are grieving.

On Sunday, a driver ran over the family of five while they were waiting at an intersection in London, where the driver deliberately climbed onto the sidewalk and hit them because of their Islamic faith, officials said.

London Police Chief Paul White said: "There is evidence that it was a premeditated act of hate." It is believed that the victims were targeted because they are Muslims.
