Prisoners’ Affairs Authority: Israel has arrested “one million” Palestinians since 1967


The Commission for Detainees and Ex-Prisoners Affairs reported that the number of arrests among Palestinians since 1967 has reached about one million, including more than 17,000 arrests of girls, women and mothers, and more than 50,000 children.

 

The commission explained, in a statement, published by the Palestinian News and Information Agency - Wafa, today, Saturday, that all of the Palestinians who experienced arrest were subjected - at least - to some form of physical or psychological torture, moral abuse and cruel treatment.

 

With regard to the policy of administrative detention, the commission explained that the number of administrative detention decisions since 1967 is estimated at more than (54,000), between a new decision and the renewal of administrative detention.
