Farouk added, during his speech at the Forum of the Permanent Arab Postal Committee in Sharm El Sheikh, that the post also succeeded in ensuring the continuity of basic services, which included the payment of salaries, pensions, urgent subsidies, local shipping services, and government services to all the Egyptian people without stopping or even delaying. The main task was towards each postal worker, which led to the name “Green Army” for the men and women workers in the Egyptian Post, the army that continued to perform its tasks through 4000 post offices throughout the Republic.
He continued: "The postal sector has demonstrated the full ability to assume social responsibility, maturity and awareness in dealing with the crisis, by employing all its capabilities to serve the community in all its segments, in accordance with the societal and economic needs of each country. And he added: “In Egypt - and during the peak periods of the pandemic, the right to roam after the curfew hours was given only to medical staff and Egyptian postal workers, who put themselves on the first front line to preserve Egyptian national security, by maintaining the continuity of providing basic services to more than a million Egyptian citizens. daily, while maintaining social distancing and providing all necessary precautions to preserve the safety of citizens.
He said that the whole world witnessed difficult periods during the past year and almost lost its balance in the face of the Corona pandemic, but the concerted efforts at all national, regional and international levels made it possible to overcome the effects of the pandemic, as everyone took a helping hand, both as much as they could to reduce losses incurred by the world.
