The Ministry of Petroleum aims to implement regional seismic survey projects aimed at providing data on promising petroleum areas to contribute to attracting international companies to invest in them, and the most important projects that have been implemented over the past seven years, which were as follows..

 

1- Implementation of a project to collect geophysical data in the Egyptian economic waters in the Red Sea.

 

2 - Completion of the first phase of the project in the Red Sea region.

 

3- One of the most important results of the Red Sea Project was the launch of the first global bid in March 2019 in the Red Sea region.

 

4 - Announcing the winning of 3 major international companies in 3 regions of the Red Sea for the first time.

 

5- The second phase of the regional seismic survey in the western Mediterranean was completed in September 2018.

 

6 - Recording, collecting and processing two-dimensional seismic data with a length of up to 22,000 km.

 

7- Major international companies such as BP, Total, Shell, Chevron, Exxon Mobil and others have expressed their desire to inject new investments to explore the western Mediterranean.

 

8 - Seven agreements were signed in the Western Mediterranean with Exxon Mobil, BP, Total, Shell and Chevron companies.

 

8- A three-dimensional seismic survey was conducted for the first time in the western Mediterranean for an area of ​​26 thousand km2.

 

9- It is planned to put the rest of the regions in an international auction to attract more investments in the western Mediterranean.

 

10 - Initiation of an advanced seismic survey to be implemented for the first time in Egypt to re-evaluate petroleum resources in the Gulf of Suez region.

 

11 - It aims to increase the reserves and production of crude oil, after signing an agreement between the Ministry of Petroleum and Schlumberger International.

 

12- Data processing is being completed for the spaces that have been completed.

 

13 - The South Valley Petroleum Holding Company is implementing a project aimed at collecting geophysical data in the open land areas in southern Egypt.
