Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Oleg Seromolotov expressed his country's concern about the possibility of several countries interfering in the Russian Parliament elections in a destructive manner next September.
"Russian law enforcement forces have more than once spotted attempts by diplomats of other countries to influence in some way the ongoing political processes in our country," Seromolotov told "Sputnik" news agency today.
"Regarding the upcoming elections to the Russian State Duma, we do not rule out that a number of countries try to" participate "in it in a destructive way, the Russian diplomat added, noting that foreign diplomatic missions in Russia have been warned more than once about the need to abandon interference in the affairs of our country.
In another context, Polish President Andrzej Duda expressed his condolences to his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, for the killing of at least nine people, most of them children, during the armed attack that targeted a school in Kazan, central Russia.
Duda said in a message of condolence to Putin, transmitted by Radio Poland today, Wednesday, "I was deeply saddened to hear the tragedy that occurred in the Kazan school, that the death of innocent people, especially children, always provokes our deep opposition and raises a sadness that words cannot express."
"On behalf of the Polish people, I would like to convey to you my sincere condolences to the families and loved ones of the victims of this tragedy, our thoughts and prayers to them at this difficult time," he added.
The accident occurred yesterday, Tuesday, in a school in Kazan, the capital of the Republic of Tatarstan in central Russia, killing 9 people, including 7 children, and wounding several others with injuries of varying severity.
