The smuggling of two tons and 490 kilograms of hashish thwarted in Morocco


The competent Moroccan security authorities near the city of Mohammedia thwarted an operation to smuggle two tons and 490 kilograms of hashish on board a cargo truck.

 

A statement by the General Directorate of Moroccan Security stated that the truck driver was arrested near the city of Mohammedia when he was trying to smuggle a large amount of hashish between the cities of Tangiers and Agadir.

 

The statement indicated that the inspections that took place inside the truck resulted in the seizure of two tons and 490 kilograms of hashish, which were wrapped and packed neatly within the hollows of boxes and wooden cubes.

 

The statement added that the involved driver was detained, under guard, to complete the investigations supervised by the competent Public Prosecution, to reveal all the circumstances and circumstances of this case, explaining that investigations are still underway to apprehend the rest of those involved and participants in committing these criminal acts.
