1.8 billion pounds in taxes and duties in "Dekheila" and "Damietta" customs last April


Dr. Mohamed Maait, Minister of Finance, reviewed the efforts made by customs officers to overcome obstacles and facilitate customs procedures before the business community. In a way that contributes to improving the work performance of customs administrations, and reducing the customs release time, in a way that helps meet the needs of the local market and stabilize prices.

 

The Minister received a report from Al-Shahat Ghattwari, Head of the Customs Authority, in which he indicated that covered 6,319 customs certificates contained in “Dekheila” and “Damietta” customs had been released for various types of strategic goods and general goods such as: “wheat, rice, and sugar,” And legumes, corn, air-conditioning components, refrigerators, fans, fabrics, woods, strings, fodder, motorcycle parts, and cars, ”during the month of April.

 

The report added that the total taxes and customs duties collected from the certificates imported by the customs of "Dekheila" and "Damietta" amounted to 310 million and 31 thousand pounds, while the total value-added taxes and other fees collected from these certificates amounted to about one billion and 571 million and 209 thousand pounds.

 

The report indicated that the General Administration of Exportation at Dekheila and Damietta Customs had exported 4,570 customs declarations during the month of April, most of its types of strategic goods, and general goods such as: «aluminum, foodstuffs, stainless steel, marble, and sand» , With a total value of 6 billion and 308 million and 532 thousand pounds, while the collected export fees amounted to 9 million and 996 thousand pounds.

 

The report pointed out that the total taxes and customs duties collected, taxes and other fees collected in the customs of "Dekheila" and "Damietta" during the month of April amounted to about one billion and 891 million and 236 thousand pounds.
