For his part, Counselor Mustafa Elham, Governor of Luxor, said that this year's celebration aims to focus on benefiting from the use of assistive technologies for people with autism, by describing these technologies as tools that help remove barriers that prevent their full social, economic and political participation in society, and in promoting equality. Equity and inclusion.
The governor of Luxor clarified that today evening the governorate office and the Nile Corniche were illuminated to participate in the International Day of Awareness of Autism Spectrum Disease, according to the instructions of the Council of Ministers, and within the framework of the duty of officials in Egypt towards autism patients to raise awareness of the nature of this disease, and ways to improve the lives of children and adults who suffer from this disease and ways Correct dealings with them.
It is noteworthy that the United Nations General Assembly, in December 2007, by Resolution No. 139/62, designated April 2 as the International Day for Autism Awareness to highlight the need to improve the lives of children and adults who suffer from this disease, in order to ensure that they enjoy a decent life to the fullest. And it began to be celebrated globally for the first time in 2008, and autism is a newly recognized disease in the world, and some studies indicate that the proportion of people with autism in the world is more than the proportion of people with cancer itself.
