America informs the Gulf states about the status of the Vienna nuclear talks with Iran

On Tuesday, the US envoy to Iran, Robert Malley, held a discussion with representatives of the Gulf Cooperation Council states on the "Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action."

Mali said, in a tweet on his official account on Twitter: "I had a good discussion this morning with our partners in the countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council regarding the development of the joint comprehensive action plan talks and regional security."

He added, "We are returning to Vienna for the next round of talks on our goal of a mutual return to compliance with the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action."

Iran and world powers - Britain, China, France, Germany and Russia - are meeting in Vienna to determine what steps should be taken to revive the agreement from which former US President Donald Trump withdrew in 2018.

Today, Tuesday, a new round of talks with members of the Joint Committee for the Comprehensive Action Plan began, to continue until the 30th of April.

The US State Department says that the aim of the talks is "to reach an agreement that prevents Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon permanently."
