Guardiola: Liverpool are still the champions and we have to wrest the Premier League title from them

Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola expressed his happiness after the team's 4-1 victory over Wolverhampton on Tuesday evening in the Premier League.

"We received some attacks from them, we created opportunities, an incredibly deserving victory, a great tribute to the players, to end the match 4-1, which is good for our confidence in the next match," the Spanish coach said in remarks after the match.

He added: You cannot imagine how happy we are when Gabriel Jesus can score the goals he has scored because you cannot imagine the number of things he does and people do not realize that he is doing it. He helps us with pressure, he is a man who brings pleasure to everyone.

He praised Riyad Mahrez, saying: "Riyad is a fun man on the field, he does not lose balls, he makes extra passes, attracts opponents and passes back, he makes great crosses, we knew that, that's why we paid for him, we hope he continues."

And about competing with Liverpool: "Liverpool are the champions. They have the crown. If we want to grab it, we have to win the Premier League title. Today we were better than facing West Ham. I felt in the warm-up period that we are ready."

With this result, Manchester City continues to top the Premier League table with 65 points, to close to winning the title this season, 13 points behind Manchester United, who is second with 50 points, while Wolverhampton is 12th with 34 points.
