Algerian Minister of Justice: Early legislative elections will allow the country to recover

Algerian Minister of Justice Belkacem Zeghmati said today, Wednesday, that the early legislative elections scheduled for June 12 will allow the country to return to its desired health more than ever, and it is also part of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune's path out of the current crisis.

Zaghmati considered - in a statement today, Wednesday - that President Tebboune’s path represents a lifeline that everyone must adhere to, stressing the importance of the pivotal role that judges play in the electoral process, and protecting the voter's voice as a precious trust and a precious deposit, through legal and penal mechanisms.

He pointed out that in the recent past, the judiciary took risks and various forms of abuse, as judges risked their physical safety, risked their professional path, and withstood the threats they were victims of in order to protect the citizen's voice.

Zaghmati said, "The constitution, in its new form, whether in its preamble or in its article 34, has stipulated the principle of legal security, and it is at the core of the role of the highest judicial authorities to enshrine this principle in daily judicial practice, through the referral mechanism based on the claim that it is unconstitutional to protect freedoms and rights, unless The protection of the right to live in social peace and the right to practice democracy as supreme social values, even if both are complementary to the other.
