More than a fifth of coronavirus patients lose their hair within 6 months of infection



Scientists who were analyzing the long-term symptoms of the Coronavirus discovered that a total of 359 patients out of 1655 experienced hair loss within 6 months after contracting the virus.

The authors of the report said in their findings: “After 6 months of acute infection, survivors of the Coronavirus were primarily suffering from fatigue or muscle weakness, sleep difficulties, and anxiety or depression.


The study was conducted on confirmed Covid patients discharged from Jin Yin Tan Hospital in Zero District in Wuhan, and the analysis was conducted between January 7 and May 29 of last year.


After their recovery and discharge from the hospital, they were subsequently interviewed with a series of questionnaires by researchers, which was to assess their symptoms and health-related quality of life, undergo physical exams and a 6-minute gait test, as well as blood tests.


After 6 months of positive tests, the most common symptom that was reported was fatigue or muscle weakness, at 63%, followed by difficulty sleeping by 26%, anxiety or depression was reported in 23%, and hair loss in 22%. Of patients.
